Ines Tancré was born and raised in Germany.

After finishing her studies with a PhD in Linguistics and Philosophy she married a German carreer diplomat . They travelled extensively due to their postings to Iran, Korea, Sierra Leone, Norway, Egypt, Canada, Italy Germany, Afghanistan and the USA.

Inspired by the diversity of environments and a life-style asking for constant adaptation paired with the challenge of establishing and preserving identity she started her FOTOART 1995.

The reality of photography  is used as a base for estrangement effects leading to images with their own new meaning.

Some photos are "melted" by undergoing a printing or transfer process, some are coloured and combined in collages, others just stand by themselves.

The underlying theme of her TEXT- PICTURES  containing lyrics and/or numbers is Identity and Duality .

The two artistic approaches Text- and Fotoart are dealing with the interrelation of: the perception of structure and the structure of perception.
